Focus on culture
Today, the global market is a reality, and as a consequence it is essential to be able to communicate efficiently in several languages. Efficient communication includes translations which are not mere word-by-word translations, but which also convey the cultural characteristics of the country in question. Danish state-authorised translators are language specialists with an in-depth knowledge of the culture of the country in which the specific language is spoken, and which the majority of the translators have studied abroad to supplement their professional training.
Translations undertaken by AjourTranslation are covered by a professional indemnity insurance taken out via the Association of Danish Authorized Translators, giving you, the customer, the greatest possible security.
AjourTranslation is owned and managed by Anni Therkelsen, MA Translation and Interpretation, Danish state-authorised translator and interpreter in French.

Translation French-Danish
When translating a text from French into Danish it is decisive for us that the target text is written in fluent and well-formulated Danish, while at the same time taking into consideration the style and tone of the original text. For example, the formulation of a contract will always be completely different to that of e.g. an advertisement. As our customer you can rest assured that we pay attention to the style and message of the original text, and convey these elements in the target text without any distraction or “noise”.
We use the Trados translation tool for most assignments. While translating, Trados creates a database of sentences and words contained in the individual customer’s text. Thus, any given word (term) will be translated in the same way, not only within the specific text, but also between assignments. Besides being efficient, this also ensures a high level of quality in the translation.
Translations are always subjected to thorough proofreading before delivery.
State-authorised translators possess an in-depth knowledge of cultural and linguistic differences between Denmark and France which we employ when translating a text into French. In French, for example, formal language and more words are used when being polite than would be the case in Danish. Therefore, we will make suggestions for changes if encountering wordings that could be misinterpreted by a Frenchman.

A native translator normally proofreads translations into French of e.g. printed matter and web site texts.
State authorisation
The title of Danish state-authorised translator is a protected title, which can only be acquired once having obtained an MA degree in business language from one of the Danish business schools (MA Translation and Interpretation) and following appointment by the Danish Commerce and Companies Agency. Danish state-authorised translators hold the exclusive right to make certified translations. Certified translations are required e.g. in connection with documents to be presented in legal proceedings, when contracting marriage abroad or when applying for admission at foreign educational establishments. With his/her seal, signature and endorsement the state-authorised translator certifies the translation to be a complete and faithful translation of the original text.
Danish state-authorised translators work for business enterprises, the police and courts of law. State-authorised translators are bound to observe professional secrecy.
Proofreading
Professional translators proofread and correct any errors, grammatical or otherwise, in existing texts.
We make sure that your Danish text functions as intended:
Clear and unambiguous communication is essential – this is true not only for texts translated into a foreign language, but also for Danish texts. Your firm’s written material is its public image. Poor language and clichés in your brochures or other written material is detrimental to your product. Imprecise wording and errors in your texts will cause your product to be perceived in the same manner by potential customers. AjourTranslation helps eliminate grammatical and other linguistic errors, making your communication with the surrounding world linguistically correct and thereby more efficient.
Delivery
The price for a translation is based on the size and the difficulty of the text.
As a rule, text size is calculated as the number of words in the text or the number of characters converted to standard lines.
Terms of payment: 14 days net.
We deliver as soon as possible and always meet agreed deadlines.
We deliver by post, fax or email.
